quote I did not want to review this place and shine light on this hidden gem. But this is one amazing place the spicy chicken noodles and the vegetable dumplings are amazing. The spiciness is perfect and the portion size perfect for the night. Did not expect this off the road place to taste this good. Will definitely come back again.

quote Jalan Alor is one of the newer Malaysian restaurants, which also comes highly recommended by some, although reading some of the reviews it seems everyone's experiences can be quite mixed. Our summary: The Good 👍 - Cheap dishes at $10 for most and $15.50 for noodles. 💰 - Serving size is average, so fairly good value for money. 🍽️ - Authentic Kopitiam vibe - The CKT was actually quite decent with wok hey The OK - The Sawarak Kolo mee was just a lot of noodles 🍜 with some meat, no veggies. I guess for $10 I can't complain but here I am writing about this. - Fish head curry was decent. - the Satay had a different peanut sauce flavour than what we would normally have elsewhere. Not bad, just different. The bad 😞 - The KL Hokkien mee wasn't great. Too sweet and had a very very fishy (squid) after taste. Also took about 30mins to come. - the Sweet Chee Chong Fun was again very sweet but and the noodles were stuck together and hard in some places. Tbh if not for the stuck hard noodles this dish would have been ok to good. Overall, if you are looking for cheap Malaysian eats and aren't too fussed on quality, this place is worth a try. If you want something which is actually good, there are many other places in and around east of Melbourne!

quote Came here for dinner tonight and the food was amazing, everything was freshly made. More importantly, the grandma was the best! Super cute and helpful. We asked her if the soups were good and she told us ‘not really, our noodles and lamb ribs better’ we loved her honest recommendation. We also had the lamb pies - we forgot to take a photo because it smelt so good and we ate it too quickly - a must try!

quote Best place for a classic fish and chip shop burger. The last time I went the chips were excellent, having improved from being slightly undercooked in the past

quote Most affordable food in Glenferrie. You can have lunch for $10 to $12 dollars, especially suitable for budget conscious staff and students. The food is yummy.

pho-huong-viet

quote My husband and I had been on a long day trip and were looking to go Italian but the one in Macrossan Street was closed so we walked to Grant Street and found a little Vietnamese Restaurant that we hadn’t tried before. We had the Beef Wrapped in Bet Leaf, the Lemongrass Chilli Beef and the Braised Barramundi. Each dish had enough flavour and spice to keep up happy. A bottle of red was just $30 and was cheap in comparison to the other restaurants that we had been to. Service was quick, food tasty and we had no complaints. Sitting out on the side of the street on a walm evening is a great way to eat.
