Kambo is a traditional Cantonese restaurant. Old school in a good nostalgic way. We had crab noodles and ‘Chinese ham’ and both were delicious. Crab was fresh and full of meat, noodles were done nicely with lots of gravy. Chinese ham and jellyfish dish was tasty and smelled strongly of sesame oil. Service was extremely polite and friendly. To top it off we got free ‘tong suit’ and fruit after. Very nice experience, feels like the Chinese restaurants of my childhood. Best of all it was well priced for what we ate. Highly recommended.

Came here for dinner tonight and the food was amazing, everything was freshly made. More importantly, the grandma was the best! Super cute and helpful. We asked her if the soups were good and she told us ‘not really, our noodles and lamb ribs better’ we loved her honest recommendation. We also had the lamb pies - we forgot to take a photo because it smelt so good and we ate it too quickly - a must try!

We ordered stir fried beef with naan bread and stir fried spicy squid. They are absolutely delicious and the ingredients are fresh! Highly recommended! Many customers came after us during dinner time, it is popular so you will expect a reasonable waiting time.

Really delicious meals with rich flavours and great prices! Dined here many times while visiting with family in the Balwyn North area. Their food was always delicious and portion sizes are good. A Taste of Guangzhou in Forest Hill, Tasty House lives up to its name. This spot delivers seriously good comfort food with bold, nostalgic flavors that speak to tradition done right. Roast duck lovers will appreciate the crisp, golden skin and rich, succulent meat. The roast pork hits that magical trifecta: crunchy skin, tender meat, and just the right amount of fat. But the surprise star is salted free range chicken. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and quietly addictive, something that brings me back to Guangzhou. The ox tongue stir-fry—tender slices with a deep, savory flavor that lingers in the best way. Even the vegetable soup, often a supporting act, held its own with a light but satisfying broth that felt like a warm hug. Tasty House isn’t flashy—it’s the kind of place that wins you over dish by dish. If you’re into honest, flavor-packed Cantonese fare, this place is worth the visit.

I did not want to review this place and shine light on this hidden gem. But this is one amazing place the spicy chicken noodles and the vegetable dumplings are amazing. The spiciness is perfect and the portion size perfect for the night. Did not expect this off the road place to taste this good. Will definitely come back again.
