Malaysian

Because Peninsular Malaysia shares a common history with Singapore, it is common to find versions of the same dish across both sides of the border regardless of place of origin, such as laksa and chicken rice. Rice is the most important staple food in Malaysia. A popular dish based on rice in Malaysia is nasi lemak, rice steamed with coconut milk and pandan leaves to give it a rich fragrance.

Our Customer Reviews

quote My wife and I visited Wellington while we are on our North Island holiday in New Zealand. While here, we craved some comfort food and we are so happy we did, because it led us to this amazing restaurant. We can vouch that the food is absolutely amazing. We actually had food from there twice (dined in once, and had an uber delivery for the other). We tried the chicken 65, chicken kothu roti/parota, chicken biryani and the murtabak. All the dishes were brilliant. Full of flavour and freshly made. We highly recommend trying this place if you are looking for some authentic south Indian or Malaysian food. Thank you to the owner for his friendly service. Worth supporting this nice little restaurant. Venue is clean, well lit and welcoming.

quote Everything about our experience here was amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was quite a tough decision to make with regards to which mean to get but finally made a decision and decided to get the pad Thai. Was absolutely delicious and would definitely make sure to come back again. The portion size is massive and ended up taking the rest home!

quote Overall, recommended 7.5/10 Dry Bak Kut Teh — 4/5 Soy sauce-based dish featuring tender pork ribs and pork belly cubes, simmered with a mix of soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar for a savory-sweet flavor profile. The meat is soft, flavorful, and pairs wonderfully with stir-fried onions, scallions, and okra. However, the pork belly cubes had a slight gamy taste. Fried Chili & Garlic Crispy Eggplant Stuffed with Pork — 3.5/5 The fried eggplants are wonderfully crispy, and the minced pork flavored with chili, garlic, and fish sauce pairs excellently with rice. However, the eggplant itself lacked seasoning, which left the dish feeling slightly unbalanced. Teh Tarik (Milk Tea) — 5/5 Absolutely amazing. It’s smooth and slightly thick, with a rich aroma of black tea, similar to Hong Kong-style milk tea but enhanced by a hint of unique spices that set it apart. Anyway, I’ll definitely come back to explore more dishes on their menu.

quote Best in town! What a hidden gem. Food is yummy, generous and authentic (speaking from a foodie coming from East Malaysia), and so affordable. Small place but will be lucky if no long Q. Clean and quick service. Couldn’t fault anything for this place. The menu and the price really excites me. But be aware, due to the affordability, you can easily over order what you can finish so please have self control as you walk into the place.
