quote Good fish and chips here. On the way home we decided to call into the McIvor Road Fish and Chip shop. Although there was only a few of us in the shop we could tell that they must do a lot of phone orders as the deep fryers were working overtime. We ordered the stock standard fish and chips with potato cakes to takeaway. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the order was filled fairly quickly considering how busy they were. Although there are a few metal seats outside, no tables, this is a predominately takeaway store. Worth considering if you are after a feed of fish and chips.

quote The pizza was ok. Definitely can't complain about the pizza for the price. It's not a cardboard base like you get from dominos/eagleboys. Good amount of toppings. Ok quality ingredients. Only took 15mins to make. (On a Wednesday night) The let down was the garlic bread. They advertise a gourmet a sounding garlic bread with "Italian style butter and Parmesan cooked in a wood fire. When in fact the just give you a generic mass produced garlic bread and charge you $7 for it! I'll be back but won't be ordering the rip off garlic bread.

quote The restaurant was welcoming when we walked in. The inside feels authentic and is very nice. The food came out promptly, and all dishes were very tasty. Prices were satisfactory, but serving sizes could have been larger, especially for the large steamed rice. Definitely recommend this restaurant when you are in the area.

quote I had dinner from here a night ago. We ordered a Hawaiian and a supreme. The nice young person said the pizzas would be ready within 20 minutes, and they were patient when I dropped the coins (oops). We waited in the shop, and while you wait, you can see the kitchen, and it needs an upgrade and even a clean up. It was very noisy and they yelled at each other while they cooked and it gave ne a headache, and it was boring because there was nothing to look at while you waited. But if that's the price to lay for the pizzas, then I'll gladly do 28 of those. The pizzas are always fresh, hot, and almost never greasy. I love Hawaiian and Supreme and usually get those with my family and they both has just the right amount of ingredients. This is now my go to pizza store ❤️

quote A Fantastic Family Restaurant with Amazing Food (18/10/2025) I recently visited the new Dosa Hut Indian Restaurant in Bendigo on its opening night, and what a memorable experience it was. From the moment I arrived, there was a festive, Bollywood-inspired atmosphere, complete with a red carpet leading into the restaurant. The excitement was palpable, with families from all cultures coming together to celebrate this exciting addition to Bendigo’s dining scene. What stood out most was the welcoming, family-friendly vibe. Children were laughing, adults were enjoying themselves, and the whole place was alive with energy. While it was a special opening night, it was clear that this is, at its heart, a place where families will feel right at home. The restaurant layout is thoughtfully designed, with comfortable booth seating on one side and classic tables and chairs on the other, perfect for everything from casual family dinners to larger gatherings. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, with something to suit everyone’s taste. I had already decided on my favourites, Chicken Tikka Masala and plain Naan, and they did not disappoint. The flavours were rich and authentic, and the naan had a perfect char, served warm and fresh. Both were excellent. Even though there was a short wait (as expected on such a busy night), the friendly and lively atmosphere made it a pleasure to be there. The staff did an outstanding job, and it was lovely to see family members and friends working together, truly a family-run venture. A special mention goes to the person at the counter who was managing orders and keeping everything running smoothly. He handled a big job with confidence and professionalism, a standout on the night. Dosa Hut has launched with heart, flavour, and a genuine sense of community. I’ll definitely be returning with friends and family. Best of luck to the team on this exciting new journey! – Greg
