Chinese takeaway inside South Lake’s shopping centre’s food hall. The area is a bit sad. Average pricing. Had a good selection of classic Chinese food. My sweet & sour fish was very generous in serving and well done. My husband’s special fried rice was tasteless. He needed to add soy sauce to it.

Food is pretty and reasonable price. Restaurant ambience is basic. Good place to have a family dinner or with friends.

Further update.
February 2025.
We just keep returning because they are CONSISTENT. The meals are fresh, tasty, presentable and it reminds me of HOME.
I am so glad that their standard and professionalism never change, still at its best!
We enjoyed our dinner so much! Loved it.
Delicious and impressive.
We shall continue to return, and I encourage everyone to try their dishes.

The review below was about a year old. Now it is January 2024, and we keep coming back. We love this place. They are consistent with their menu. Amazing. Delicious.
My only complaint, we went there one day, and the Google map said it was open and they were closed. Was sooooo sad. I was craving and missing their food.
But we returned again the following week, and they were open. Thank God. My Happy Place for Filipino food.

Very modern cooking of Filipino cuisine. Had an amazing experience. We had dinner for two, it wasn't crowded at all but we booked for two in advance. As the night went by, people started arriving.
We didn't wait long, dishes came out in a timely manner, and we were not disappointed. The crunchy pork belly kare kare was so creamy and smooth. It was arranged so beautifully. The creamy kare kare sauce is so tasty, light, and fluffy. It was different than other kare kare I have tasted and even cooked. It looks like all items such as the meat and veggies were cooked individually as well as the creamy sauce and placed together in harmony. The bagoong was light and it complimented the kare kare.
The pork sinigang, too, was very fresh, and broth was light and tasty. Not overpowering sour. Although I love very sour. My partner likes it mildly. The pork meat was so tender, and it melted in your mouth.
We also had pork barbecue. It was so tasty and tender, too. It was perfect with the chop suey. Vegies was crunchy and saucy. Very fresh, too. It had small pieces of pork. I like it. Though I would have loved it if they put some prawns or some quail eggs. Overall, it's not bad.
Their halo halo was very simple but so delicious. The shaved ice suited the tasty ice cream and morsels of sweetened fruits. It was so yummy but not too heavy.
We will come back. The restaurant is quite new, I hope they retain their standards.

Hi everyone! Just a heads up to people who want to buy fish and chips here, I would label it a takeaway/last minute or very basic F&C place. Please don’t go here expecting five star restaurant quality. It is for the people who just want some basic local fish and chips. I was craving some F&C, and so I went to this place because I didn’t feel like driving 30min to a place with incredible ratings. I just wanted stock standard. This was that. It was tasty. Wasn’t off, or smelly or anything like that. The restaurant was visibly clean which is very important. The service wasn’t that good. The man who served me sounded fed up, which I absolutely understand as a customer service worker. And to be honest, I wasn’t going to this place for the customer service. But I would suggest to Kims F&C to try and put a smiling server on. It has an incredible impact on customers and their likelihood of coming back to the restaurant. You don’t need to be over the top, rainbows and butterflies, but continuous sighing and a complete lack of enthusiasm can make someone want to leave or ask for a refund. Again, the chips and fish were good. Especially the fish. It was crispy, cooked to perfection and tasted great! Is $15 a bit exxy, sure, but what isn’t nowadays.
Accessibility: parking around the restaurant is good. There’s is parking right out the front of the restaurant, however there is a ledge that isn’t accessible via wheelchair. However, around 10-20m from the restaurant is a ramp. It might actually be closer than that, I am just terrible as guessing measurements. There isn’t any loud music playing or flashing lights. The TV was also off when I went inside. It was a tad echoey.

My review is based on a Thursday lunchtime visit. I ordered fish and chips ($15) and a pineapple fritter.
Walked in at 12pm it was dead quiet so was served quite fast and only waited 10mins for my order.
For $15 I have had more value and better quality at other places.
Sadly she forgot my pineapple fritter, the fish was fine and the batter thin and crispy. Chips were ok…more than likely over cooked as they were not fluffy inside just crispy.
They have a variety of food and drinks not really a place you can sit down to eat if it’s busy.
She didn’t really give a good vibe as if she didn’t wanna be there.

This was my first time experiencing fish and chips from this establishment, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Even though there were only 3 people in the shop, the lady (who was by herself) was very busy (with online orders, I'm guessing??).
The food was what you would expect from a fish and chips shop. nothing really stood out.. except the chicken tender I ordered. Even though it's not Christmas yet, Mr Hankey actually tasted alright..
