Our Customer Reviews

kampung-story

quote Reviews don’t do this place justice. We’ve never had a bad experience. Sure there’s no water or napkins on arrival, just ask for some. 💁🏻‍♀️ Great food, great price point.

quote I tried their lamb kebab, and it was amazing. The best part was it was not dry, every bite was meaty and juicy.

nan-yang-cafe-derrimut

quote At $10 a dish, this Malaysian café is a budget win — perfect if you’re a student or just looking to fill up without emptying your wallet. But for me, it wasn’t quite the flavour journey I was hoping for. I tried the Penang White Curry Mee, Hainan Chicken Rice, Loh Bak, and Teh Tarik. The curry mee arrived in a generous bowl, but it was mainly noodles swimming in white curry broth, with not much else going on. The Hainan Chicken Rice looked like the real deal, but taste-wise, it felt like my brain got the memo — “this is chicken and rice” — while my mouth and stomach were still waiting for it to show up. The highlight? Only the Teh Tarik — smooth, milky, and exactly how it should be. If you’re here for value, especially as a student, this is a 5-star find. But if, like me, you’re chasing those bold, satisfying Malaysian flavours, it’s closer to 3 stars — filling enough, but missing the spark that makes you crave the next bite.

window-cafe

quote Absolute amazing place to come for a hot and delicious freshly cooked meal. Located in a lifting shopping strip with plenty of parking. The owner was super friendly and such a helpful guide when exploring the menu. As first time customers he recommended meals to us and explained them well. The food was made fresh and was delicious. It did not take long to arrive at our table. The owner was friendly and professional the whole time explaining how to go about eating and adding to the soup to better suite our taste. The whole experience was amazing and leaves you wanting to come back for more. Will defiantly be coming back and I would highly recommend it when you have time to stop by!
