The curry laksa here is very good. Been coming here for lunches since 2020. I always order curry laksa and the fried chicken nasi lemak. The portion is big too. They are also running a “Under $10” all day meal deals (main+ drink) now. This makes me very happy! And also the restaurant position is great, the children’s indoor playground is right in front of it. Very friendly for families. And the wait staff- Daz and Sherry are awesome. Always smiley and accommodating.
This place I highly recommend. This is my go-to in Point Cook for comfort food!

This is my updated review from my first review of this place 6 years ago. This place has always been comfort food especially when we order the Char Kwey Teow and Curry Laksa.
My kids are into chicken rice and the Nasi lemak. Is it the best food in the world? No, it isn't because it is not sold on the streets like in Singapore or Malaysia.
Is it worth a visit every week to have a hot, warm homely feel in my tummy, absolutely! Honestly, in today's pricing, where can you get such decent food for $10 / dish? Portions are big and generous. The $10 all day deals also include a milk coffee. Highly recommended!! This is our go-to in Point Cook and I pray and hope that they don't move somewhere else!
My only suggestion - play some 60/80s kampong music. Whether it is Saloma Istana Cinta or Tian Mi Mi 甜蜜蜜 will give the whole 80s kampong vibes to round up all the 5 senses.
I also would like the chef to come out and chat with us more. There are days I find my laksa not spicy enough but when I chat with the chef behind the pots and pans, it reminds me that the food is man-made/cooked. It isn't churned out by machines so the taste may vary a little. And that's what home cooking is about. It is that comfort, familiarity and knowing that the food would taste like mom's.

From the moment you walk in, the aromas pull you straight into a Malaysian kampung (village) experience. The food is rich in flavour, perfectly spiced, and tastes like it’s cooked from the heart. Every dish feels traditional, soulful, and incredibly satisfying — the kind of food that keeps you thinking about it long after you leave.
The portions are generous, the ingredients feel fresh, and the balance of spices is spot on. Whether you’re new to Malaysian food or grew up with it, Kampung Story delivers pure comfort and authenticity. Friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere make the experience even better.
If you’re craving real Malaysian flavours that feel homemade and full of love, Kampung Story is a must-visit. Highly recommended — once you try it, you’ll definitely be back.

This is a great spot for families with small children to have lunch. It sits right where the indoor playground is so I could take my lunch and watch my little ones play. The lunches at $7.50 for the flatbread prata ( roti? not sure what it is exactly called) and $10 chicken rice were a huge hit with my kids. Definitely coming back! 💰✔️ Oh and the coffee that comes with the lunch deal is a money saver. 👍
