Nestled in between shops near the station.
A simple yet homely place serving halal Malaysian options.
The lady serving was very sweet and helped with my order. I really loved the fried chicken because of all the flavours of the spice. The serving portion was really filling for the price. The only thing will be to reduce sugar in the drinks.
I will recommend this for anyone who's happy to eat a simple malay dish in a homely environment.

Probably the best roti I had in Melbourne. Thin, flaky and crispy.
Nasi lemak fried chicken was good. Good balance of sweet and spicy sambal.
This place made me feel like I’m dining in Malaysia. Don’t expect fancy furnitures. Would definitely be back again.
Always Hungry
I really wanted to like this place to support my fellow country mate but jeez, they need to get more organised!
I went in at 1230hrs Saturday which I know is peak lunch hour so I expected madness. There was no sitting inside (capacity perhaps 20 people) so I sat outside on one of the two 6 seater tables on the footpath.
Ordered and paid at the register, there was no weekend surcharge, I was charged $23.46 but the guy only wanted $23, guess he doesn't like loose change. The Laksa Utara $10 came pretty much right away but it was lukewarm which was disappointing. Taste was OK and I wish I had the Chinese soup spoon instead of the shallow metal spoon which made it difficult to scoop the food up. But this is a personal preference so I'm not faulting the shop for this.
Kopi tarik $5 came shortly after, it was also lukewarm but taste was good, sweet but not sickly sweet, coffee could've been stronger though.
The nasi lemak biasa $8 to takeaway took over an hour! I'm guessing he forgot about me because 30 mins into my meal he says something like, oh yeah you wanted nasi lemak. Then 15 mins later when I was ready to leave I asked him and he said I have to wait a bit more because the rice is still cooking. This is the 3rd Malay restaurant I've been to that has run out of rice! I mean rice is your main dish and it's the weekend plus you're offering deals for Malaysian Independence Day, of course you'll need bucket loads of rice!
When I finally got my nasi lemak, it was almost 2pm so about 1.5 hours wait.
Street parking is 2 hours and quite limited so I parked at the train station parking which is mostly empty on weekends.

The go-to place for Malay cuisine! Repeat customer and we'll definitely drop by again in the future

Have tried roti chanai/prata from a few places in Melbourne and this has to be one of the best. Crispy on the outside but still fluffy on the inside. Tried the roti sarang burung paired with the flavourful fish curry, totally yummy.
Parking in front of the shop might be a challenge but there are nearby parking spots. The atmosphere reminds me of those small town warongs in Malaysia and the staff are friendly - love this place. Highly recommended and will be back to try the other menu items such as nasi lemak, nasi goreng, nasi ayam etc.
