Place is dated but most Chinese restaurants do feel that way purely to set the atmosphere, the meals were nice but not fantastic
Curry puffs - full of flavour these were actually nice, crispy and when you bite into them they were full of flavour.
Steam dim sim’s - actually really good
Special fried rice - wouldn’t say it was very special and didn’t really seem fried
Pepper steak and veg - the flavours were there but steak was cut pretty small and there really wasn’t a great deal of veg at all.
Service was nice the lady is lovely that served us.

I haven't had such a beautiful chinese meal in years....until now!.The meal was so flavoursome with 2 large prawns NOT shrimp amongst my combination meal. Fried rice just like it used to taste...absolutely delicious. Won't be going anywhere else but New China Epsom

Had dinner here with the family on our recent visit to Bendigo and I must say it is underrated! The food was really good and was loved by my picky children ☺️ so that’s a really good sign. The service is also good as the staff are really attentive and very considerate when she saw my youngest picking out the veggies on his fried rice she offered to give him some plain steamed rice. That’s really sweet of her. 😍 Everything we ordered is good. We will definitely go back here the next time we return to Bendigo.

The restaurant was welcoming when we walked in. The inside feels authentic and is very nice.
The food came out promptly, and all dishes were very tasty.
Prices were satisfactory, but serving sizes could have been larger, especially for the large steamed rice.
Definitely recommend this restaurant when you are in the area.

Update May 2025
Jin Yang Noodle Bar seems to have new owners or management (?). The restaurant has also had a bit refresh. I ordered special fried rice and some mini spring rolls and both were very tasty. I wish the friendly new team all the best.

If you are after a quick, flavourful, take away, it is worth checking out in Jin Yang Noodle Bar in Mitchell Street Bendigo. This family run business provides friendly service and good value for money meals. I had the special fried rice and a couple of homemade steamed Dim Sims, the special fried rice had a mix of prawns, cha siu, egg, bean shoots, onion, peas, carrots and spring onion and I think pork. You can eat in or take away. There are even tables and chairs out the front for an outdoor dining experience. I really enjoyed my meal and will return. Well done!

I am so thrilled these guys opened up. Best Indian food in Bendigo (controversial I know, but I'm standing by it). My husband and I have ordered takeaway from here multiple times but today we decided to sit in.
I ordered the chef's special vegetarian dosa and it was spectacular. Golden and crispy and perfect with a cheesy potato filling.
Definitely eat-in if you want to order one though - if you're getting takeaway there really isn't a way to keep them crispy on the way home. Not the chef's fault, it's just a reality of the dish because as soon as you wrap it in anything or put it in a container the steam will soften it.
We've tried quite a few of the other dishes as well, which have all been great, but my favourite so far is the adraki rara chicken, which I'd never heard of before but now we order it almost every time.
Staff are always super friendly and welcoming as well. Highly recommend.
