Such an amazing find in Canberra! The food here is absolutely delicious and tastes just like authentic Hong Kong–style comfort food. We ordered quite a few dishes to share. The Chinese broccoli, spring rolls, fried rice, BBQ roast duck, crispy skin pork, and braised beef chow mein and every single one was cooked perfectly.
The roast meats were the highlight: the duck was juicy and full of flavour, while the crispy skin pork had that perfect crunch with tender, savoury meat underneath. The braised beef chow mein was rich and comforting, and the vegetables were fresh and nicely seasoned.
Portions are generous, and everything came out hot and fresh. You can tell they really take pride in what they serve. The place itself is casual and relaxed, perfect for a hearty, satisfying meal with family or friends.
If you’re looking for good Chinese food in Canberra, Tak Kee Roast Inn is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

For homely Chinese food - Tak Kee is best! The food is comforting and delicious with so much flavour. The roast meats and congee are the best parts.

A budget-friendly small place for lunch or dinner with quick service. The roast duck noodle soup and soya chicken fried noodles were nice, and the vegetable hot pot was fine. The pork cutlet salted was a bit too oily, and the Guangzhou fried rice was sticky.

My husband and I have been missing our favorite spot in Melbourne since we moved to NSW. We found this restaurant, which also features Peking duck. It’s one of the classic and best Chinese restaurants in Canberra. The food tastes great, and the atmosphere is typical of a busy Chinese restaurant, although the space is limited. However, it’s definitely worth it.
