The sushi are good, and the staff are exceptional genuinely attentive, almost anticipatory. They close the blinds before the sun becomes uncomfortable, wipe the table without being asked, and serve wasabi in exactly the amount you want even if that amount is objectively unreasonable and you had too mush sake.
They made a milkshake for the first time, and despite that, it turned out solid. Occasionally, flies appear.
Now, about the kitchen.
If karaage is overcooked, it stops being food it becomes waste. And charging money for that is not acceptable. A customer should never see it. You apologise for the wait and cook a fresh batch. That’s not generosity. That is baseline professionalism.
This place is surprisingly well-reviewed very little outright negativity, mostly praise, with a few scattered complaints. The criticism is also consistent: overcooked karaage, overheeted and a noticeably Westernised take on Japanese food. On that last point, I tend to agree.
I will be coming back.

The food is incredibly delicious and fresh, with fast service and generous portions.
The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the bubble tea is amazing.
Hands down the best Japanese restaurant in Rockingham.

Really cute shop, with nice bench style seating in an L shape, chairs on opposite sides. Karage Chicken Ramen was so good! Affordable price with large serving sizes. Staff were really nice :-)

I LOVE THE FOOD HERE! Whenever I come to Rockingham I eat here. The miso, takoyaki, yakisoba, fried rice, everything here is delicious.

Squid stick: Good.
Beef noodle (yakisoba?): Good. Meat is easy to chew, very soft.
Karaage and katsudon: Not good, they were burnt. I couldn't enjoy the food because the burn taste of breading and panko bread crumbs were overpowering. Just need to swallow it because I do not like wasting food and money. Burnt food is not a first time complain, had seen someone mentioned it here. Order time was not during rush hour so I do not think that frying was rushed for it to be left burnt.
This is our second time ordering here, first time was okay (takeaway), no burnt food. Serving size is consistent.
