Order Sri Lankan Food Online

THANK YOU so much to the super AWESOME team from SL Chef from both my friend/godfather Peter and I for absolutely EVERYTHING during our first EVER visit there late this morning many hours ago on Friday 23/01/2026 including both the first rate food and first rate fast and friendly service...we both deeply appreciate it! The inside of SL Chef was bright, colourful and welcoming...and the girl who served us was so nice and friendly; we deeply appreciate how helpful she was including preparing our order of two spicy beef patties, both of which had absolutely LOVELY pastry on the outside and absolutely DELICIOUS tantalising spicy beef filling in the inside. It is the perfect snack or lunch on the go! On top of the aforementioned spicy beef patty - a Sri Lankan culinary delight you absolutely MUST try - they have a a truly IMPRESSIVE selection of Sri Lanka baked goods and dishes as well; we look forward to visiting again very soon to try it all, indeed SL Chef is an absolute GEM of both a Sri Lankan restaurant and bakery!

Visited over Christmas period! Sri Lankan buffet is supper good! We ordered a Savala as well. Which is the start of the show.

We stopped by this restaurant for lunch on 24th April 2025 and ordered a Roast Chicken Kotthu, Nasi Goreng, and Lump Rice. We were honestly shocked by the portion sizes—in the best way! This was the first time we’ve seen a Sri Lankan restaurant where one dish was more than enough for two adults. We only managed to finish two dishes and took the third home. The taste? Absolutely unmatchable. I don’t think I’m creative enough to express just how happy we were. The food had that authentic, homemade taste that brought back memories—and I can confidently say none of the big names in Melbourne come close to the talent here. We were so delighted, we even ordered dinner from the same place later that day! And because we felt so grateful, my wife asked the friendly staff at the counter if we could meet the chef. A couple of minutes later, we were lucky enough to meet Nirmala—the incredible person behind the food that made our day (and especially our kids’ day). Nirmala, you have truly blessed hands. We’ve never felt this satisfied with a food experience in Melbourne. Thank you so much! This place is highly recommended to anyone who wants to try authentic Lankan cuisine.

Tried unlimited Buffett, there were good number of items on the menu. I loved the raw jack fruit curry. It was very affordable and almost everything tasted good. Food was not hot, and staff wasn’t refilling when the buffet pots were empty and not really a friendly attitude. Otherwise everything was good
