Dosa Hut Ballarat

Recently tried on. Recommendation and really enjoyed the food except the starter i forgot the name was below average. We ordered Masala Dosa, chilli something ( forgot exact name) as starter, steam rice, vegetable noodles and butter chicken with plain and cheese naans and goli dodas. The environment was bit noisy but lively with punjsbi music. Will definitely will visit again. Recommend ✔️

I don’t do reviews but I feel compelled to do so. When in Ballarat you must visit this eatery. Crazy good service, and outstanding food! I had the tandoori chicken as a starter, large serve , didn’t think I could eat it all but it was so good I just kept going. Lamb vindaloo next with a serving of plain rice… lovely long grain rice cooked to perfection, I’ve had a few vindaloo in my time but this one beat them all, flavors perfectly balanced and the heat of the spice was gorgeous , half an hour later I’m still basking in it’s warm glow and all without raising too much of a sweat. And don’t forget to wash it down with an ice cold king fisher. Oh…and very reasonably priced, the cars queuing up going through the fast food burger joint next door don’t know what they are missing. Perfect in every way. Do yourself a favour, forget the drive through, park the car and have a real meal, you won’t be disappointed!

After Few More Attempts... Review for Dosa Hut (Ballarat Location) I recently dined at Dosa Hut, and overall, the experience was quite good. The food was flavorful and well-prepared, maintaining the quality I expect from this chain. However, I had one issue with the Ginger Chicken—The flavor profile did match what I expected from a dish named “Ginger Chicken,” major drawback is the location of the Ballarat branch. It feels quite isolated, especially in the evenings, making it an unwelcoming choice for families. Even in summer, the area doesn’t feel lively or familiar, and I can only imagine how it might feel in winter. I would highly recommend the owners consider opening a branch in a more accessible and vibrant area, Overall, the food and service were good, but the location needs some improvement.

Chef special veggie dosa was super, an acquired taste with the 3 different sources, my favourite source was the peanut coconut white chutney. Chilli Chicken had great flavor, the sauce was delicious and the seasoning was spot on. However, it was clearly made with frozen chicken, which took away from the overall quality. As much as I enjoyed the taste, the use of frozen meat is a definite downside.

I had a wonderful experience at Dosa Hut! The food was delicious, fresh, and full of authentic Indian flavours. The service was excellent — Dinesh took great care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. Really appreciated his friendly and professional attitude. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving great Indian food and warm hospitality!
