Asian

Asia, being the largest and most populous continent, is home to many cultures, many of which have their own characteristic cuisine. While rice is common to most Asian cuisines, different varieties are popular in the various regions. Glutinous rice is ingrained in the culture, religious tradition and national identity of Laos. Basmati rice is popular in the Indian subcontinent, jasmine rice is often found across Southeast Asia, while long-grain rice is popular in China and short-grain in Japan and Korea. Curry is a common dish in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia. Curry dishes have their origins in the Indian subcontinent, with present-day Northern India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan mainly using a yogurt base, while those in present-day Southern India, Sri Lanka, and Southeast Asia generally use coconut milk as their foundation.

Our Customer Reviews

quote This was our second visit in 2 weeks. The serving staff are so friendly, especially the young lady who served us today. She was very kind and thoughtful. We ordered off the special menu - the curry combo plus the samosa and tea special. We loved that you could swap the rice for the naans as we prefer naans. The samosas were freshly cooked, nice and crispy on the outside and a flavoursome veg filling. There was a little wait for the naans as these were cooked fresh to order. They were definitely worth the wait. I have to say the garlic naan is one of the best we have tasted. The naans were fluffy and the tandoori roti had a nice crisp texture. They were perfect. All the curries were again cooked fresh. We saw the chicken tikka being put on the skewers ready to go in the tandoor. They had a lovely smokey taste and the pieces were juicy. The lamb melted in your mouth. The karahi, jalfrezi and tikka masala had lots of large pieces of veg. All had a very generous portion of chicken and lamb in. They all had different unique authentic flavours, with a choice of spice level. All were served in lovely bowls and came out piping hot. Every dish was so tasty and was full of flavour. The masa tea was huge and was a great way to finish the meal. This is such a great place to have freshly cooked home cooked meals. Staff are great and the chef's were excellent. We would highly recommend this restaurant. This is now one of our favourite restaurants. We'll worth the 20 minute drive. We will definitely be back again soon.

quote Ordered via menu log. I was a little apprehensive based on reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered my food about an hour earlier than I normally would have because they do have warnings on their dishes that the wait times may be long. I called up the restaurant to double check something in my order and the guy who I spoke to on the phone was lovely and helpful. I ended up receiving my food 45 minutes later (much much sooner than I expected due to the estimated wait time). Food was piping hot and delicious. I think that if other people do have issues with the wait time, please be patient and kind to the restaurant staff when you call in. It’s a very busy and popular place after all. There are warnings all over their menu informing you that wait times may exceed expectations, so order it earlier than you normally would, especially with large orders.

quote Went here after being first told about Hot Rock Pizza some 10 or so years ago, when my best friend (who passed in 2020) was a frequent visitor. I can see why he loved it - my pepperoni pizza had a crisp base, lots of flavour and a good tomato sauce. If I lived in the area, I'm sure I'd be greeted like Norm was on Cheers. Will have to try one of your gourmet/specialist range next time. Recommended if you're in the area and love a good pizza!

quote Good food value. Quality is excellent for price. Service friendly and OK. Think of it as a successful takeout place with a few tables available. Opposite a Bunnings. Off street parking out front.

quote Delicious pizza. I’ve tried every type of pizza from this place. The fungi and the margarita are probably my favourite. Today I tried Genoa. Great flavours. I like how the pizza dough is not too doughy. I find that some places have really doughy pizza so you fill up with dough instead of toppings and it feels like a waste of money. But that’s not the case with Lucky’s pizza. Perfect dough to topping ratio. Reasonable price too. Perfect spot to eat after some beers at the great northern across the road. The guys cooking up the pizzas are also lovely.

quote I’ve been coming to this restaurant for six years and mostly all visits has been met with warmth and respect. The food is consistently top quality, with generous portions that always satisfy. The seating area is clean and well-maintained, and the buffet is reasonably priced with an impressive variety of options. It’s a fantastic spot for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food lovers alike. I always prefer Punjabi Sunrise.
