Disappointing. I was told this was one of the best places to get proper fish and chips, having had some fairly rough experiences. It's not all bad, but it fell very short of the gold standard. Certainly not worth the 20k drive.
They offer a wide menu, and this may be the problem, as they're spread too thin. But this is about the fish and chips.
The chips themselves were better than average, although a little dry. The local potatoes available may have a lot to do with that. They weren't greasy, fried in a decent oil rather than animal fat. If you're looking for a cholesterol special followed by a coronary bypass then keep looking, but if you're after authentic British style chip this is close.
The fish, however, wasn't great. I don't know what they did to it but it was like it was cooked in extremely light tempura batter or possibly dusted in flour and grilled. No golden batter, and somewhat dry. She such a let down when we got home and opened it. It was probably a reasonable, but thin, bit of fish to start with.
They do, however, do a decent vegan burger, which is hard to find, so it's not a total disaster. But if it's traditional British-style fish and chips, I'm afraid this isn't it. Although I have actually had worse, and at a higher price, in the Yarra Valley.

We did a short camping trip yesterday and found this amazing shop on the way, we love their chicken schnitzel burgers and decided to come back today and tried their burger lot🥰Definitely worth the value and would come back again and again whenever we have time. Thank you ☺️

Great dimmys and solid potato cake. I was happy with the mixed kebab too. Wife had some noodles they were pretty solid. Pleasantly surprised

Needed an urgent early dinner for the family and stopped into Yarra Glen Fish & Chips after a local recommended it. The staff were friendly and helpful, the place was clean and warm, and the music played invitingly in the background. Our food came after a few minutes and was delicious. Good, crispy potato cakes and chips and the potato inside was fluffy and smooth. Also had the beetroot lentil burger which was yummy! Side note, there was also a decent selection of ready made meals in a freezer to purchase in multiple serve sizes. Including vegetarian options and desserts! I read a few of the meals and they all sounded yum 😋
